MUSIC FOR YOUR EVENT On the Air Orchestra is unique and versatile and can even be customized to meet the individual needs of your event. The basic unit is a nine-piece group consisting of keyboard/vocals, bass/vocals, guitar/vocals, drums, four horns (alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, trombone) and a female vocalist. Our four horn arrangements of classic swing emulate the full sound of the big bands, with hits from such artists as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Harry Connick, Tony Bennett and Ella Fitzgerald. We also offer our clients the option of adding a small string section of four to six violins and a string synth keyboard. Augmenting the basic unit with strings not only adds a stunningly elegant visual effect but also adds to the lushness of the overall sound. Part of our musical intent is to set a tone of class and elegance at an event, lively but subdued—at first! Then, after dinner or special presentations, many of our clients want us to rock out to keep the party moving and the dance floor full. Although some of our clients select swing and light jazz for the entire evening, other clients request that we play a variety of tunes—swing, rock, Motown, disco, rhythm and blues, pop, beach, funk—so everybody can dance to their favorites. We customize our music especially for your event. Our clients have told us they like the way we move quickly from one tune to another, no matter what kind of music we play. We believe in keeping the energy going and the dance floor full of dancers. Our song list is full of favorites from the familiar swing of “In the Mood’ and “Beyond the Sea” to the latest songs in all the genres. We are experts in reading the crowd and presenting music they will enjoy. We can advise you about which tunes people enjoy dancing to, which ones they just like to listen to and which ones will make them stay on the dance floor until the last song is played.
