The ON THE AIR orchestra is a group of active and experienced musicians in the Atlanta area. ON THE AIR was conceived about six years ago by bassist/vocalist Del Baroni and jazz saxophonist Rick Bell. Their goal was to emulate the style of Frank Sinatra and Nelson Riddle, only with a smaller orchestra. The concept caught on immediately, and Atlanta audiences continue to enjoy Del's Sinatra-style vocals and Rick's musical arrangements. Recently, ON THE AIR has begun to perform on occasion with the addition of a small string section, giving the music an elegant and orchestral sound as well as lively swing, adding that "touch of class" to any event." ON THE AIR would like to create an evening which captures the essence of the swing era. Your event begins with the timeless standards in the style of Frank Sinatra/ Harry Connick and would culminate in a "Zoot Suit Riot." The band performs with vintage microphones and swing era clothing (tuxedo, white dinner jacket or zoot suit). Let's go "Steppin' Out" with ON THE AIR! |
